Terms of use
In force from 2 October 2026
These terms govern the use of POPS (“More than just sport”). Browsing the map needs no account; by signing in you accept these terms. How we process your personal data is described separately under Privacy.
1. Who we are
POPS is run by a non-profit association:
The association's registered name, UIC and address have not been published here yet.
We have not published an email address yet. Until we do, write to us through the notice form — it reaches the administrators and you can leave a reply address.
2. The service
POPS is a free map of the publicly accessible sports facilities in Bulgaria, with group sessions, a sports passport, leaderboards and open data. There are no paid features. We may change, temporarily suspend or discontinue parts of the service, including for maintenance.
3. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. The account is personal: do not share it and do not create one in someone else's name. You are responsible for what is done from your account and for access to your email. You can delete your account at any time from My profile.
We have not set a minimum age for an account; our age policy is under review.
4. What may be published
You are responsible for what you add: facility data, photos, the name and city in your profile, session titles and descriptions. Do not publish:
- illegal content;
- other people's personal data;
- photos in which people can be recognised;
- abusive, threatening or discriminatory content;
- advertising or spam;
- facility data you know to be false;
- content you have no rights to.
5. Licence for your contributions
The facility data you add — location, type, access, condition and more — becomes part of the POPS database, which we publish as open data under the Open Database License 1.0 (ODbL) together with the OpenStreetMap data. By submitting it you agree to it being published on those terms.
Photos are not part of the open data. By uploading a photo you confirm that you took it or have the right to share it and that no person can be recognised in it, and you grant us a free, non-exclusive, perpetual right to store it, process it (for example to strip its metadata and resize it) and show it on POPS. The copyright stays yours.
6. How we moderate
New facilities appear on the map straight away — before another member or a moderator has checked them. Photos are published only after a moderator approves them. Moderators are the volunteer ambassadors for their municipality and the POPS administrators. Automated checks can only prompt — a person always decides.
When we reject or take down your photo or remove a facility you added, we email you what we decided, on what ground — a breach of these terms or illegal content — and how to contest the decision.
We may refuse, edit or remove content that breaks these terms or the law. For serious or repeated breaches we may restrict or close the account.
7. Notices and appeals
Anyone can tell us about content they consider illegal or in breach of these terms through the notice form. We handle notices promptly; if you leave an email address, we confirm receipt and tell you the decision.
If you disagree with a moderation decision — about your content or on your notice — write to the address on the Contact page and a person will review the decision. You may also go to court.
Our point of contact under Articles 11 and 12 of the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065) — for authorities and for users — is the address on the Contact page. Write to us in Bulgarian or English.
8. Accuracy of the data and liability
Facility data comes from OpenStreetMap, from municipalities and from members. It may be incomplete, out of date or wrong — including whether a facility is free, lit or in good condition. Check on site before relying on it.
POPS does not own or maintain the facilities and is not responsible for their condition. You play at your own risk. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for damage arising from the use of the site or of its data.
9. Personal data
How and why we process your personal data, and what your rights are, is described under Privacy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The new version is published on this page with the date from which it applies. If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your account.
11. Governing law
Bulgarian law applies. Disputes are settled by the competent Bulgarian court, without limiting your rights as a consumer.
